Information technology center worth Rs 35 million has been completed and its rental auction will take place on 10 March.

Rawalpindi City Commissioner,  Captain (retired) Muhammad Mehmood announced the establishment of an independent Information Technology center in a four kanal area on Murree Road to promote  IT-related job opportunities for young people. Companies and individuals will have access to the state-of-the-art building to install their offices.

The  meeting was also attended by Chief Metropolitan Officer Ali Abbas Bukhari and others.

The Information Technology center has a 1,700-square-foot workspace with four meeting rooms, two group discussion rooms, a daycare, and a coffee shop. There is also space for a restaurant on the roof of the building and parking for 40 vehicles.

Commissioner Capt (Retd) Muhammad Mehmood said the company that acquired the freelance hub on leased will provide daily, weekly and monthly rented workspace for Information Technology companies, freelancers, and startups where 24-hour power supply will be available and fast speed internet facility would be available.

It will provide domestic and foreign companies with the best and most modern workforce, as well as a better environment in which to set up their offices.

He asked the RMC to prepare an annual audit report to review the performance of the leasing company.

He said five indicators would be formulated to assess the performance of the company that rents the independent IT center, including organizing three training and community seminars each month and connecting with five international companies each year that can deliver projects to IT professionals.

Pakistan’s information technology sector is undergoing regular changes to adapt to emerging trends in smart technology.
